Colour Forecast for Autumn 2016

At the beginning of the year I introduced you to the Pantone colour of the year for 2016, the two toned colours are the indication and forecast that helps project the future of what the trends will be for the following seasons. I am a big believer in your interior adapting to the seasons that we are currently in, so it is going to be interesting to see how these colours will translate into the coming months as we transition seasons.

Despite the different climate, there are a few things that I believe are certain. The colours will be based on pastel tones and wont be harsh, they will be colours that evoke emotion and mood.

One of my favourite Australia fabric wholesalers recently released their picks for the year, especially in what is going to be popular in patterns and I could not agree more.

I see a lot of turquoise and aquas but I feel we will be seeing the colour go deeper, with a deep green tone being a favourite for the cooler months. These aquas and pastels can also go and develop into cooler blue tones which will add a completely different dimension to an interior.

They are very grounding, calming and warming colour tones that work well together but it is always important to have a contrasting colour. That colour would be orange! Orange is a hue that can be developed from pink and red which allows for a more fun and vibrant feel. It allows these two ground tones to become slightly more playful.
