In this day and age, where lots and lots of homes and commercial spaces are all open plan, to create a feeling of transparency, we need to create zones. What I mean is, areas that are dedicated to particular activities and even though there may not be any walls to demonstrate the zone itself, it can be distinguished by other features.
When it comes to zoning spaces, I always think about how the space can be grounded, by using a feature wall, rugs, pendant lights, feature tiling, artwork etc. It’s all about using those particular areas and then styling them in a way that allows you to create a particular area.
