  • Minimum Charges Apply – For smaller jobs, a minimum charge ensures we can cover the necessary time, materials, and resources required to complete the task properly.
  • Efficient Scheduling – To optimise our time and yours, we focus on jobs that require a skilled tradesperson’s expertise. This is why we do not provide on-site quotes for very small tasks, such as hanging a single picture frame.
  • Job Assessment – Providing clear job details and photos upfront allows us to assess the work required and ensure we are fully prepared before arriving.
  • Travel Considerations – As we service multiple locations, travel time is factored into job preparation to ensure we allocate the necessary resources for each task efficiently. Any relevant travel costs will be discussed upfront to maintain full transparency.

Materials

Materials are generally part required for the jobs. This can be addressed in a few ways

  • Clients can supply the materials required.
  • Trades can supply the materials
  • Trades can pick up materials that clients have paid for.
  • Time involved in sourcing materials or picking up materials is chargeable.
  • There will be no guarantee on materials supplied by the client.
  • Cost of the materials supplied by the trades is chargeable

Invoicing & Payments

At Men Behaving Handy, all payments are processed via invoice—cash payments are not accepted by tradespersons.

  • Invoice Issued – Once your job is completed, you will receive an email invoice detailing the work done and payment options.
  • Payment Methods:
    • Direct Debit – Bank transfer using the details provided on your invoice.
    • Credit Card – A 1.95% surcharge applies for card payments.
  • Payment Terms – Payments are due within 7 days of receiving your invoice.
  • Overdue Payments – If payment is not received within 7 days, immediate payment will be required. Unresolved invoices may be escalated.

Estimate Information

Estimate Validity & Pricing

  • Estimates are valid for 30 days from the date issued, provided material costs remain unchanged.
  • If accepted after 30 days, Men Behaving Handy may adjust the estimate to account for:
    • Additional services required to complete the work that were not originally included.
    • Any client-requested changes or additions after work begins.
    • Material price increases.
    • Variations in third-party service provider costs.

Scope of Work

  • The estimate only covers services explicitly listed in the Scope of Work.
  • Any additional work not specified in the estimate will be charged separately.

Guarantees & Material Quality

  • Labour is guaranteed; however, Men Behaving Handy does not guarantee materials.
  • If the client provides materials that are deemed inadequate, and still chooses to proceed, the labour guarantee is void.

Work Scheduling & Completion

  • Work will be scheduled as soon as possible upon acceptance of the estimate.
  • Timelines may be affected by:
    • Material availability
    • Public holidays
    • Weather conditions

Liability & Compliance

  • Men Behaving Handy is only liable to the extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law.
  • Liability is limited to the amount payable under the estimate.
  • Work will be carried out with ultimate care, skill, and diligence.

Cancellations & Fees

  • Cancellation fees may apply to cover costs already incurred, including material purchases.

Accepting an estimate means that you agree to the terms and conditions that will accompany your estimate.

GST & Insurance

Men Behaving Handy, operates with full transparency when it comes to pricing and coverage.

  • GST (Goods & Services Tax) – All invoices include 10% GST, which is clearly itemised for your reference.
  • Fully Insured – We carry a $20 Million Comprehensive Insurance, ensuring protection for both our clients and tradespeople while work is being completed.
  • Peace of Mind – Our insurance coverage includes public liability, safeguarding against any unforeseen incidents on-site.
